Profile

Doug has been a partner since joining the firm in 1983. He represents approximately 200 companies and limited partnerships within Manitoba and across Canada, in a wide variety of matters, including business agreements, sales and purchases, reorganizations, real estate transactions, real estate development, financing, securities law and corporate matters. Doug represents one of Canada's largest banks on foreclosure matters. One of his clients has revenues approaching $1 billion annually, and he has participated in multi-hundred million dollar matters. His client base also includes land developers, insurance agencies, professionals, retailers, wholesalers, contractors and service providers, amongst others.

Doug's clients also include Manitoba First Nations in respect of major development agreements with Manitoba's largest utility, Manitoba Hydro, involving a multi-billion dollar project. He has represented First Nations on multi-million dollar agreements relating to the settlement of past claims for damage caused by Hydro operations. Doug currently represents Manitoba First Nations on business development and real estate development.
